PORK AFRITADA

I CAN TASTE IT IN MY MIND--

Pork Afritada is simplest Filipino style tomato based stew, it is usually made out of pork, potato and carrots cooked slowly on tomato sauce with herbs and spices.

It's been a while since the last time I ate this dish. Way back before the pandemic I used to have this for lunch, I would go and buy outside, packed in a plastic. I like the smell and taste of it!

HALO-HALO

AN OCCASION-ONLY DESSERT

Halo-halo, also spelled haluhalo, Filipino for "mixed", is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or condensed milk, and various ingredients including: ube, sweetened beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman, pinipig rice, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, slices or portions of fruit preserves and other root crop preserves, flan, and often topped with a scoop of ube ice cream.

I'd never had this dessert on our dinner, but we used to eat this on some occasions-- our recognition on my elementary days.. I missed the way it takes me a while to finish the whole stuff while my hands are freezing from the glass. It has a lot of stuff in it, all of it are tasty!

GINATAANG BILO BILO

BANANA PART

Ginataang bilo bilo is a popular Filipino dessert made from sticky rice balls and coconut milk. It typically contains sago and jackfruit; fancier versions will also contain sweet potato and plantain. The dish is typically served in the afternoon, and it can be enjoyed hot or cold.

Finally the last one. Right now my mind somehow smells this food, it's been a while since I eat it.
Before I start craving all I can say is it's delicious; hot or cold condition. But I still remember that eating too much consecutively would make me feel the word "umay". Nonetheless I like it!!

Sinangág

Sunday Breakfast

Sinangág, also called garlic fried rice or garlic rice, is a Filipino fried rice dish cooked by stir-frying pre-cooked rice with garlic. The rice used is preferably stale, usually leftover cooked rice from the previous day, as it results in rice that is slightly fermented and firmer.

TINOLA

Rainy Day Dish

Tinola is Filipino soup usually served as an appetizer or a main entrée with white rice. Traditionally, this dish is cooked with chicken or fish, wedges of green papaya, and leaves of the siling labuyo chili pepper in broth flavored with ginger, onions and fish sauce.

I like the taste of it, I had once tried a spicy style of this dish, I unconsciously took a sip and it was very hot at the same time that my lips almost got scalded.
